Three drowned to death while celebrating Holi

Kothagudem/Warangal Urban: Three people lost their lives in Telangana, in three separate incidents. All three of them drowned to death while participating in Holi celebration here on Sunday.

In first incident, S Jampaiah (19), a student of degree second year, drowned in Godavari River. He was native of Chintiryalagudem village, he went to River Godavari to have a bath with his friends after celebrating Holi. the body of the boy was recovered from the river later, police said.

In another incident, an unidentified youth drowned in River Godavari at Nellipakabanjar village. He was too taking bath after celebrating Holi in the river, when he got washed away in the water body. Efforts to retrieve his body was in vain, even after expert swimmers tried to trace his body.

The third incident took place in Bhadrakali Cheruvu in Warangal, where a youngster Kemidi Rajesh drowned in the waters. He reportedly, went for swimming with his friends after taking part in Holi celebrations. However, he was suspected to be under heavy influence of alcohol before stepping in the water and reportedly got caught in the nets, which was laid for catching fish. The body of the deceased is yet to be recovered.
