Mahbubnagar: Setting up of five new Basti Dawakhanas is on cards here in Mahbubnagar, says Excise and Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud. He said that efforts for installing new Basti Dawakhanas in the district in being made, and will be opened shortly, he added.
However, one new hospital was already under construction in the town, this was made replacing the Doodh hospital in Mahabubbagar. Apart from this, in order to provide better medical treatment to the urban poor, the Minister said that, it is very likely that the new Basti Dawakhanas in old Palamoor, Veernnapet, Timasthanapalli will be installed soon.
He further added that, these Basti Dawakhanas will be assigned with one doctor, nurse and medical assistant apart from providing free medicines. He also distributed Rs 15.79 lakh worth cheques to beneficiaries under Chief Minister Relief Fund, on Monday.
While speaking on the occasion, Srinivas Goud said that, in order to extend necessary and required support to the poor people, the State Government is making all efforts under initiative of Chief Minister Relief Fund.
Recalling the past times, the Minister said that since the ruling of TRS started in the State, quality treatment is being offered to the poor people for free at various Government hospitals, unlike in past times, where the poor had to get huge money debts to get quality medical treatment.
He also added that, in 2014, 70 institution deliveries were registered in district hospital, however, now due to efforts by the government the count stands at 2.400 with increase in the strength of staff, facilities and required amenities, he added.
Minister, appreciated the hard work of the officials and elected public representatives who are striving for proving benefits to people under various welfare schemes.
