7 persons held over attacking constable, forest beat officer

Kothagudem: Seven persons were allegedly booked for attacking a police constable and beating a forest officer in separate incidents in Burgampahad mandal in Kothagudem district here on Saturday.

In one incident which took place in Tekulacheruvu gram panchayat, three persons along with an elected representative allegedly attacked a forest beat officer. The officer was identified as Ashok Kumar, who sustained injuries after he was trying to prevent illegal transportation of sand from Domalavagu stream in the forest area on Friday night.

The other incident happened with a police constable named Prasad at Pinapaka Pattinagar. The constable sustained minor injuries when he was allegedly pushed away by three persons who were involved in illegal transportation of sand.

According to SI, B Balakrishna, police is on hunt to nav the accused persons.
