Hyderabad: The Health Minister Eatala Rajender is likely to hold an emergency meeting, with the health officials, nodal officers and other stakeholders like hospital authorities on Thursday, to discuss the steps required to combat the second wave of Covid-19 cases in the State.
The State is witnessing a second wave of new covid-19 cases, with new cases being reported more than 500 daily. This triggered an alarm to both Health officials and the citizens.
On Wednesday, the Health Minister hold a meeting with officials of health department and instructed them to step up measures in order to contain the new surge of coronavirus.
According to the Minister, the State is better equipped now to tackle the new wave of covid-19, since the death rate is also drastically decreased due to wide range of measures taken by the State government to contain the virus.
He further added that, the health officials had informed him that the intensity of rising cases is on lesser side as it was previous year.
Vaccination is going on at full pace in the State and we also requested the union government to send us necessary doses at the earliest”, Minister said, while having a conversation with health officials via phone call.
Eatala further said that, in fight against the virus, along with health officials, municipal, police and panchayat raj officials will also be ultisied, and its related decision will also be taken in the emergency meeting on Thursday, he said.
The Health Minister also appealed the citizens to take necessary precautions, and do their part in containing the spread.
