Hyderabad: Two persons were arrested by the Rachakonda Police Special Operations Team along with the LB Nagar Police under charges of illegal possession of firearms here on Friday.
The accused were natives of Maharashtra, and identified as Nandakishore alias Manoj (23) and Rohan Rajeev Chandaliya (24), another suspect Kiran Shivaji Khawale(24) was absconding.
Police seized two country-made pistols and five live rounds from the suspects. According to police, the two suspects were previously involved with a gang called ‘Raavan Saamrajya’ in Pune.
G. Sudheer Babu, Joint Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda said that Manoj and Rajeev were part of a gang in Pune city and often committed crimes which included attacks on their rival gang, for which they were earlier arrested and jailed too.
“Since they had life threats from rival gangs, about four months ago, they purchased two country made pistols from a dealer in Uttar Pradesh with the help of their mutual friend Kiran Shivaji for Rs 15,000 each,” Sudheer Babu said.
On Thursday night the trio came to Hyderabad by train in order to stay underground here till things returned back to normal in Pune. However, the duo was detained while moving suspiciously at LB Nagar near Ranga Reddy district court and police also seized firearms and five live rounds from the suspects.
