Amaravati: Telugu Desam Party Chief Chandrababu Naidu urged his party members not to get disheartened by the results of recent Urban Local Bodies elections in Andhra Pradesh.
YRSCP party won majority of the seats in the elections making a clean sweep victory, whereas, TDP faced disappointment after the results were announced on Sunday. Naidu, while addressing his party members and cadres said that, “There is no need to get disheartened by the results. Despite rowdyism, threats, abuse of power and inducements, we have still fought valiantly”.
He further asked his members to work on their goal towards addressing public issues while keeping the state’s future in mind. He said, ““If we work with this spirit, we will win in the days to come”.
However, during the campaigning for elections, TDP supremo addressed many public meetings and also tried to woo Guntur and Vijayawada district’s voters to vote in favour of TDP in the elections, but the results proved to be otherwise with majority winning falling on YSRCP side.
“If YSRCP wins Guntur, it is like shifting Amaravati to elsewhere,” Chandrababu Naidu added.
He further accused state’s people who are trying to settle in other cities like Hyderabad and Bengaluru but not trying to save Andhra Pradesh’s capital Amravati.
However, the Telugu Desam party lost all other seats in municipal corporations and won two municipalities which includes Tadipatri and Mydukuru.
